Changing our Reality By Changing Our Thoughts

I've heard and read from numerous self-help gurus that we change our reality (present and future) by changing our thoughts (and what we focus on). Is this true?

It's true! We do change our reality constantly with the thoughts we choose to think. There is no simple, perfect path for the soul. With each choice, you immediately create many paths within a choice, one of which is then best at that particular moment. For this reason, it becomes apparent that the point of power to change, heal and grow comes from the present moment. At every given second, our thoughts pave the way to what we choose to manifest.
We are, in a sense, the author of our own life story. There is part of us that creates the next life event based on current belief systems and our emotional reaction to present surroundings.
Oh my goodness, have you ever seen the Twilight Zone episode called "Think good thoughts"??? A boy named Anthony sent people to the "corn fields" when they had negative thoughts or didn't have positive thoughts about the current reality. Curious to hear anyones take on that episode- (I saw it when I was a kid and I haven't forgotten it).
I saw that Twilight Zone and I saw a remake of it too a few years ago. It was literally dangerous to think bad thoughts or you'd be sent to another reality. I guess thats the same way it happens in real life, negative thoughts actually do send you to another reality.
As a yoga teacher these past 8 years, I have witnessed how people can turn their aches and pains (everything!) around by thinking of their ailments in a more positive way, such as instead of saying 'I have a bad knee' you would say, 'My knee needs more love and attention'. And not just say it, really believe it. It's gratifiying to see it work. Thoughts are things. One must also watch their use of self-depricating humor or sarchastic humor, the sub-conscious may not know the difference. (I see women doing this all the time)
so true...I make hypnosis CDs and used myself as a guinea pig for my CD "consciousthought" which first teaches you how to recognize every time you have one of those self depricating thoughts - or even begin to think of a future scenario going bad. Once I started to notice my own thoughts, I found myself picking fights with random people in my head and beating up on myself all the time. I thought I was a really positive person! I think recognizing your thought patterns is the first step - then I proceeded to say "Stop" to myself every time I started to think something negative and I now turn my attention towards soemthing positive/goal oriented - it really, really works - I notice the more I practice this the less negative/confrontational situations are in my life - and the more I can actually manifest exactly what I want. It takes time and practice, but it is very real!

Notice, when sleeping & dreaming, when we want something, we draw it to us, we don't get up and get it. It is our mind that tells us in the wakened state that tells uas it is no longer possible to access your desires. In a dream state we are less dense because we are free to leave our bodies= in an antigravity machine, our balance is shifted in such a way it suprisingly has a similar effect.
